What is Fascia?

Fascia is the magic glue that holds our bodies together. Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place. The tissue does more than provide internal structure; fascia has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin. When stressed, it “tightens up” It holds our bodies together, and not only that, it holds our memories, traumas, secrets and emotions. I find that myofascial release is often the missing link to health and healing.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a healing modality that addresses the fascia specifically. I combine my myofascial training with craniosacral therapy  (a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord), and different forms of energy work.

How does Myofascial Release Work?

By addressing the fascia we are making permanent change in your body. We are unwinding any unwanted holding patterns-emotional or physical. A fascial restriction stemming from things such as trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create restrictions that can create pressure in the body of about 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures. This does not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc).

I began my myofascial journey as a client in 2010, and as a practitioner in 2017. Check out my about me page to get the full story!

Book an appointment.

I offer 60 minute one on one sessions in Flagstaff, AZ and soon to offer part time services in Durango, CO. No two sessions are the same. I listen and I follow the restrictions in your body, together we can address scars, injuries/traumas, chronic pain, general wear and tear, emotional struggles, honestly the list is endless.

To schedule a myofascial release session, existing clients please use the calendar here!

If you are a new client please text me prior to scheduling. New client appointments will not be approved until we have had a chance to chat!

Self Myofascial Release

My favorite part about myofascial release is that you can do it yourself! True, seeing a therapist is a game changer and I highly recommend working with a therapist in person. But, I have a secret. You have the ability to heal yourself too! Which is why I am offering resources on self myofascial release. Follow the link to find out what products I offer and what self massage tools I recommend!”
